ABOUT
A More Expressive
Approach to Home Design.
Wild Hue Interiors is a Baltimore-based full-service interior design studio creating colorful, character-filled homes that feel personal, practical, and unmistakably yours. We believe good design should have personality, but getting there doesn’t have to be complicated. Our thoughtful, process-driven approach brings structure to the creative process, managing everything from the big-picture vision to the many details that make a project come together, while leaving plenty of room for collaboration, curiosity, and a little fun along the way.
Formerly known as Home Methods, Wild Hue represents the evolution of the studio and a clearer expression of what we’ve always loved most: helping people create homes with character, color, and a point of view all their own.

The Playful Character Starts (but doesn’t end) With Our Founder.
Meet Emilie – The Human Behind the Hue!
Emilie Schiller, didn’t take the most traditional route to interior design, and she’s pretty happy about that. After more than 15 years in management consulting, she brought her experience managing complex projects, communicating across teams, and keeping approximately a million details moving at once into the world of interiors.
Today, that process-driven background is a big part of what makes Wild Hue different. Emilie believes the design process should be thoughtful and organized, even when the finished space is anything but predictable. She gets to know how her clients live, what they love, and what makes them tick, then combines that insight with color, pattern, vintage finds, and a healthy dose of personality. From the first floor plan through the final styling detail, she keeps the project moving and everyone on the same page, while making sure there’s still plenty of room to have fun along the way.
Emilie lives in Baltimore with her husband, Dave, and their dog, Scarlet. Outside of design, she loves to travel (color-coded spreadsheets included), read, explore museums, watch movies for the set design, and try new restaurants. She’s endlessly curious and always collecting inspiration, whether it’s a color spotted in a painting, an architectural detail discovered while traveling, or a room in a movie that she can’t stop thinking about.
Enter Alexis – Keeping Tabs On All The Things!
Alexis Crooks spent more than a decade in retail management before moving to Baltimore in 2019 to become the first Retail Director at good neighbor. Surrounded by furniture, objects, and an ever-growing world of vendors and makers, she quickly found herself wanting to know more, from how things are made to why one white is white white while another is somehow beige white or gray white.
After four years of honing her eye and expanding her knowledge of interiors, she made the leap into project management, where her attention to detail, love of design, and ability to shepherd a lot of moving pieces from start to finish found a natural home. At Wild Hue, Alexis works alongside Emilie to keep projects moving while continuing to explore how color, pattern, texture, function, and personality can come together to make a space feel completely individual.
When she isn’t tracking an order or following up with a contractor, Alexis is usually making something. Her hobbies have included collaging, jewelry making, ceramics, cooking, gardening, sewing, and whatever has most recently captured her attention. There is, naturally, an illustrious project pile, though she does occasionally make a dent in it. She also loves to travel and document what catches her eye along the way, accumulating an impressive archive of photographs that may or may not ever see the light of day.
FAQ’S
-
When scheduling your complimentary 30-minute consultation, we'll kick things off with a few questions to grasp your preferences. However, prior to our discussion, it can be beneficial to jot down a list of likes, dislikes, budgetary considerations, and overall project objectives. Have some snapshots or a Pinterest board handy? That's even more fantastic! They provide valuable insight into your style and vision.
-
Within our contract, you'll find a set fee per room based on an estimated number of hours. We'll tackle your project room by room, moving at a pace you’re comfortable with, all while ensuring a seamless, harmonious style flows throughout every space.

The development and finalization of your designs usually zip by in no time. However, ordering pieces and coordinating vendor schedules can be a tad more time-intensive, depending on availability.
Typically, the entire interior design journey spans between 3 to 6 months, though this timeline varies from client to client.
We highly recommend kicking off your design process sooner rather than later. This way, we can ensure everything's in place for that eagerly awaited housewarming party (or any other deadline you've got on the horizon)!

We're all about flexibility! Our standard practice provides two distinct design options, allowing you to visualize how each one complements your space. Additionally, we provide alternative choices for key pieces such as sofas and rugs, granting you even more versatility in crafting your ideal interior.
-
We're all about accommodating your preferences. If you wish, we'll do our best to integrate as much of your existing furniture into the design. However, some pieces might be too worn, outdated, or simply not aligned with the new style concept. But hey, we won't pressure you to part with anything! Our approach is gentle guidance, offering options like refinishing or reupholstering to breathe new life into beloved pieces.
-
We can help narrow down your style preferences, but what truly matters is understanding your likes and dislikes. Adore purple but can't stand yellow? Fantastic insight for us! Value privacy and prefer your windows covered? That's crucial too!
Whether it's through pictures, furniture pieces, or anecdotes about the space you’re looking for, these details speak volumes compared to simply stating a design style like "mid-century modern." Of course, if you're a fan of mid-century modern, don't hesitate to share! Throughout the consultation and design revision phases, we'll delve deep with the right questions to extract your unique style, crafting a design that's truly tailored to you.

Yes, but we don’t look at color in a vacuum. During the consultation phase, we devote ample time to deeply understanding your needs. From there, we diligently craft a cohesive design concept behind the scenes, presenting you with a finalized plan rather than piecemeal details. Your feedback during this phase is invaluable to ensure we hit the mark.
As we transition into the implementation phase, we will be in touch much less frequently as we pull together your entire look. Our focus shifts to orchestrating orders, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and bringing your vision to life. However, we make it a priority to keep you informed every step of the way.
Should you come across a new piece you'd like to include or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your input guides our communication and involvement levels—whether you prefer frequent updates or periodic check-ins, we're here to accommodate your preferences.

Unfortunately, since our clients' budgets vary, the classic response applies: "It depends" (apologies!). It's generally helpful to have an idea of your comfort level regarding material costs and our interior design services fees. Following our initial consult we do provide an investment guide which can be helpful to clients new to working with an interior designer.
If you only have a total budget in mind, that's perfectly fine too. We're committed to transparency, providing honest insights into what can and can't be achieved within your budget constraints.
Should you have specific goals in mind for our collaboration, please don't hesitate to share them. This allows us to ensure they're factored into our budget considerations.
